Bleeding from eyes, discharge from eyes, unable to walk without falling over

Yes, she was not doing well. It was without a doubt too late. I was concerned when I first posted that there was some nasty sickness that was about to effect the whole flock. Fortunately within 20 minutes I was able to figure out the cause. Or what I am 99% was the cause. I do not intend on...

Bleeding from eyes, discharge from eyes, unable to walk without falling over

Hi everyone. Thank you so much for help and concern. Unfortunately, it was too late for Ally. It happen quickly and she was very very far gone. It was horrible. My Dad feels pretty guilty! Although a smart man--in his head he thought filling up the cup with water and dumping it once wouldn't be...

Bleeding from eyes, discharge from eyes, unable to walk without falling over

Update: it would appear my dad mixed up some fertilizer yesterday, using half a soda can...filled that with water to rinse it out. Just watch my other duck drink out of it. Do the symptoms above sound like fertilizer poisoning?

Hi All, My ducks and chickens are now with my parents. They said last night one of my ducks started to walk weird. But, today she simply rolls over, won't straighten out her neck, bleeding from eyes, discharge from nose. I've check all the other ducks and chickens, all seem well. There isn't...

    Are acorns ok for ducks?

I am not sure if they are toxic to ducks or not...but, I do know that mine eat quite a few or at least try to eat a lot. I'm sure they manage to get some down. I haven't discouraged them eating them--there are just too many to try and keep them from.

    How to prevent frostbite?

Hi everyone! I'm sure this isn't the right place to post this question--but, since you are on topic....this may be a silly question. I have 9 week old's outside now, they have been since 6 weeks. So, they have gone from the warmer days, to chillier days, to cooler to down right freezing days...

    What Are Your Winter Woes?

From what I have read you don't need to heat your coop. If you have proper ventilation you should be fine :-). As long as the birds aren't babies of course. Having electric just makes life easier.

    What Are Your Winter Woes?

This is my first winter too :) I would agree, warmer weather is so much easier! I don't worry about cleaning up the poop. I think my chickens must dig around in the bedding enough to where I don't notice it. I'm not sure what your set up is, but I would put another layer of bedding down...

Duck started laying unusually large (dinosaur) size eggs. Not normal for her.

Thank you! She is still young--just started laying a few months ago. Hasn't missed a day of laying. So, I think for now--I am going to remain unworried :)

Yes--quite a few of them are still double yolkers. The T-Rex eggs that is. The normal size eggs are just one yolk.
