Mine did that too the first couple of days. They probly have not learned how to go into the coop yet. I had to pick them up and put them in the coop a few days until they figured out how to do it alone. Good luck with you babies!

Looks like a D'uccle to me too. Maybe mixed with something else. I have one that has a Mille Le Fluer D'Uccle daddy and an EE Momma. So I guess she is a Bantam EE/D'uccle. She lays little peach colored eggs and she is as sweet as can be. Here is a picture of my "boots" Yours is adorable too!

I seperated the mean bird for a few days. Then when I bring her back I will squirt her in the face with a squirt bottle if she goes after anyone. It's kind of like a peck but wont hurt them and they don't realize who is doing it to them so they stay away from everyone. Good luck with your birds!

I dug and buried some block (Like the one used to make block walls). I Have 2 dogs, that are now chicken trained, and I sometimes dog sit. The block is mostly buried except for an inch that sticks up above the ground.

It's probly normal. My D'Uccle sounds like a grunting frog.

I think yours are both girls. But if you are still unsure, keep an eye on new feathers (saddle feathers) starting to grow on the middle of it's back like this. Here is my rooster at 10 weeks. My roo also had a pointier tale feathers than the girls did. At 10 weeks mine also started learning to crow.

I just got this D'Uccle and Easter egger cross. Does anyone else have one like it? What color eggs should I expect to get? How many per week?

This Easter Egger is about 11 weeks (hatched April 4th) I Can not keep roosters where I live so he has to go unfortunatley. I live in Anaheim Hills, CA. Free to a good home.

I use a berlap sheet so that the air can still get thru but creates a nice shade. You can buy it in sheets or rolls.

Thanks, My once sweet bird is turning into a bully. It's the smallest chick I have and it's bullying everyone else around. Maybe it's just small-chick complex?

Here are some updated pics. I noticed in the sun that some of it's black feathers are iridescent green. Does that mean anything? I don't know what "it" was mixed with. I can't find anything to compare it to. It has a red/black laced chest. Feathers look roundish. I'm still not sure if it's a...
