    Reintroduce chicken back to flock.

My polish was attacked by a hawk and thankfully survived. It's been 7 days and I put her back out with the flock. (I only have 6 total, all hens). They won't stop chasing and pecking her. She's been hiding up on the roost and they won't even let her down to eat or drink. What can I do? I...

    Hawk attack/isolation (bloody image)

Do I need to worry they will peck her? I only have 5 other girls and her wounds seem to all be hidden by her feathers now. I just don't know if they will peck at the bare skin spots.

    Hawk attack/isolation (bloody image)

One of my chickens was attacked by a hawk last Friday. She's been in isolation ever since and is healing great. (Pic is from the day it happened) My question is when can she go back to the flock? When is she considered healed? She's not liking being alone. She lost quite a lot of feathers on...

    Who laid these??

So these are our first eggs....any idea who could have laid them? I have a barred rock, a few easter eggers, polish and two were labeled "Ameracauna".

I have hens that are 23 weeks old today...and they have yet to lay a single egg. They are inside a run during the week and only free range on weekends when im home...so i know they arent hiding them. Im in Georgia so its between hot and cold every other day. Could that be why? Like this past...

    Barnevelder roos need a home

Thank you. They are sooooo pretty. We love them so much and really wish we could keep them. We only have 7 hens though and 2 roosters is gonna be bad news I'm afraid.

    Barnevelder roos need a home

Barnevelder roosters up for discussion in Walton County, Georgia. 22 weeks old. They free range a lot. They are friendly. I dont hold my chickens so they arent used to being held. We never intended to have roos (thanks TS) but we wanted to raise them as long as we could. But now its...

    Water everywhere/free range

Ive been free ranging my chickens for about 2 months now (a few hours a day, or all day on weekends). The only water they have is inside their run, but now im worried should i have water containers around my yard as well? Or do they just walk back to the run when they get thirsty? Ive never...

    Wattles and combs?

I really hope they are both pullets. We didnt plan to have roosters and yet already have 2. My flock is too small for 3! Everything I read talks about their hair and these 2 have matching hairdos. Nothing really shows boy to me either.

    Wattles and combs?

Meet Bowie and Not Bowie haha I've been told on here that one of these is a cockerel (with the whiter tips on his hair). They are 17 weeks now. What age will they get wattles and combs if he is in fact a roo? Do all roos get those no matter the breed or are polish different? My other...
