    Poop issues

No it’s pretty cold here. I’m in NJ. I don’t think they drink any more than normal- and temps are cool/cold now. Is there another reason they would all be drinking a lot? Any other ideas?

    Poop issues

Hi all, so for awhile now my girls (all of them) have had very wet, loose stool. On the poop board it’s not formed but like splattered. Not water but not formed. Since it’s all of them, is it the food I’m feeding them? I just get it from tractor supply. I’ve used two different types from there...

    Worms!

Well today I didn’t see any worms on the board and most poop looked normal- penny again had a bit of loose poop. Didn’t see anything in it. Now I’m second guessing the parasite thing and thinking you all were right about the maggots-even if that’s the case, since she has the bad poops should I...

    Worms!

I can get the safe guard at tractor supply tomorrow so I might just pick that up - after the five days of giving it to them do I have to retreat? Is that the benefit of the valbazen with one dose? Also, I’ll go out tomorrow morning and check her droppings. But wouldn’t that be a pretty big...

    Worms!

Maggots are usually white though right and I feel like maggots are plumper than these were. They were very wormlike. Is one dewormer better than the other. I saw mixed things about eating eggs while using the valbazen. Also this is the first time in a year and a half I’ve seen worms so I’m...

    Worms!

Thank you- I just read a post about that and one that started with a V but I can’t find it anywhere in tractor supply near me. Don’t make fun lol but can worms get into the eggs? I didn’t get a picture no- I just panicked and got everything into the bag I was loading it into lololol.

    Worms!

Hi- I read some of the forums on worms but I’m still stressed and have some questions. I went to clean the poop board today and under where Penny roosts I saw diarrhea and worms in the poop. They looked black to me but all mixed in with the poop so hard to tell - maybe a half inch. A while clump...

Introducing baby chicks- what do I look for

The personalities amaze me! My first girls were always a bit low key but these new chicks are spastic lol. Good luck introducing them! I keep checking and am glad things seem pretty “calm”.

Introducing baby chicks- what do I look for

Well third night and they all are in the coop without any prompting from me👍 but not up on the roost yet. I’ll give them another couple of nights and hope they get the hang of it.

Introducing baby chicks- what do I look for

Oh okay. Mine are four feet ish. So maybe it’s not too high. There’s a spot to even land in between. Maybe I need to give them a couple of nights to just get used to it.

Introducing baby chicks- what do I look for

Got it. Thank you for the picture. That’s very helpful! I’m going to add one lower that can be their own if they want it. You all are a great help!

Introducing baby chicks- what do I look for

Well here’s the first night report. None of the babies went into the big coop BUT they never have before and their small coop is closed off. So I showed them all in and they all piled up in the nesting boxes 🤦‍♀️ what do I do about this. The big girls are on their roosting bars which I have two...

    Girls are 9/10 weeks

Oof I would be so happy. I don’t want to part with any of them.

Introducing baby chicks- what do I look for

Thank you. That makes me feel better. There are a few places in the run they can seclude themselves to if they want.

Introducing baby chicks- what do I look for

So first, I did read up in introducing and fully intended to wait til 12ish weeks to intermingle (they are 9/10 now, a couple are a few days younger than the others), but things were going so well… for the last 3 weeks the chicks have been in the run with the two big girls, but they were...
