i don't blame the hatchery because chicks are really fragile. i just received my shipment the 6th of this month and 1 was dead out of 27 and 5 more died within a couple of days. Now they are doing just fine. It's just something that happens. Also i think some breeds are more fragile than...

Chicken coop that we built over 3 years ago.

i think most everyone can relate who have chickens... i started with 25 and have had as many as 50 or more.... i have plenty of space for them, however my husband keeps me in check:.. i would love to have at least 100.... glad my husband's here to stop me... party pooper!!!!

the only ones the hatchery had were black sex links and ameraucana's...and the hatchery was strombergschickens... the first time i used them.. and all the chickens were alive and looking good.. all 25 of them!! i'll probably use this hatchery again.... i think the two with blue paint spots on...

i used to have a lot of problems with the larger roos so i had to get rid of them.. it's a shame they are so beautiful but can be very aggressive... now i just stick to bantam roos.. they are too small to do any harm... i did have one however who like to attack me so i gave him away also...

mine do the same thing.. i have 15 hens and they all have their favorite spot in the coop....i just let them alone.. they only use 3 out of the 8 nest boxes anyway. most love to roost on top of the nest boxes.. i used to keep a heat lamp up there in the winter but the chickens were getting...

my chickens love the mash:... i bought it from the feed store my mistake,, thought it was layer crumbles and the chickens loved it. i usually just stick with the crumbles it seems to last longer than the pellets. they always have scratch to eat also...

this is the first time i've used cardboard boxes to make a brooder,, i never really thought about it getting wet... maybe i better put something else under the pine shavings!!!! i used to have a brooder built out of wood and we had lanolium on the floor.. any suggestions from anyone who has...
