They all are 5 1/2 months old including the Rooster. He's a good rooster. He can get grumpy or feisty when there are eggs in the nest but not towards them just me.

I've separated the oyster shell. None of them seem to be interested in it ever. I've noticed at the end of most days, that's what is left. Should I crush it or try another brand?

Hi. Sorry took so long. She is better. I'm not exactly sure why but I did give her a few scrambled/boiled eggs with shells. She's still a loner but looks better and acts better (more energy). She hasn't laid an egg yet but she sits in the nest box often. How is your chick doing?

Thank you so much for the information. I think she may be sick then. I'll examine her tomorrow. She's very quiet too and loves me to hold her. She doesn't seem to want to hang with the other hens and doesn't have a hen friend. I feel bad for her. Thanks again.

Hi, I hope its ok to chime in. Is it 1 Tums per hen? I have a 5 month old Leghorn. She hasn't started laying yet but today she kept sitting in the nesting box. She's acting depressed and sitting alone in the yard. Is this what being "broody" is or is it something else? Thanks.

My Annabelle, a Red Sex Link, started laying eggs at 16 weeks. Its been two weeks since and she gives me an egg every day and so far every one has a double yolk. Is this normal, ok, bad, indifferent? I just want to make sure she is ok. She is acting great. Happy, healthy. Thanks in advance.
