    Anyone really familiar with lovebirds?

A fun trick that can determine sex in Peach-faced (aka Rosy-faced). Give the birds access to paper, the females will likely shred the paper and place in the their rump feathers. In 25 years, I've never seen a male do this. Also, the females of all species tend to be slightly larger than the...

    Anyone here have these pheasants?

They are not an easy species to care for; they have special requirements, and are quite expensive compared to many if the species covered on this forum. I would do more research.

    Pheasant

A Ringneck should have started a clutch by now. There could be several stress variables preventing her from starting - weather, disturbances, diet, etc. Dan

    Peach Golden Pheasants

I believe any mention of "regular" should be "red" or just Golden as it is the nominate, wild form. Prior to the 1960s, there was no such thing as a "Red Golden", just Golden (no one outside the breeding world calls the species red golden). The Ghigi is perhaps the only "mutation" I trust, I...

    Keeping quails with golden pheasants

Be careful when the mixing American Quail in the aviary, they can sometimes be aggressive towards other species. Most of the Coturnix genus should be ok if you have plenty of space. Dan

    aceh pheasant

There is a debate/discussion that seems ongoing on the species/subspecies status of the Aceh. For a very long time, it was only known from a skin. Dan

    Hybrid Pheasants

I think you are massively confusing domestic breeds vs. wild species. That's the problem associating them with poultry, you get responses like this. You never see this confusion with other facets of aviculture or science. I can't figure out why it's such a hard concept to grasp on this forum...

If you post a wanted ad on gbwf, several there have imported birds and have maintained records. The prices usually double or triple. Dan

    peepers on ringeck pheasants

Wow. Face in palm. If you are keeping 8 pheasants in that size of aviary, that's as inhumane as peepers. Hate to say it, but I can't wait for the USDA to start regulating birds (as the rumor has been floating around a few years), weed out people like you. Please send me the page number in...
