Put sand in our chicken tractor last fall and LOVE iit. I only put shavings in the nesting boxes now. It keeps things so much dryer and cleaner. Also keeps the smell down, helps keep their nails shorter, and they can dust bathe in it. I cant think of any negatives.

i have 5 packets of fish zole. each haved 250 mg, so if I put about 1/4 to 1/3 of a packet with water in a syringe and give orally I should be good? How many days?

Fish zole? I think I have some. Had a hen with blackhead some time ago. What would you do? Looking at her vent protrusion and all other things considered is this worth persuing?

I actually had some oral antibiotic that I gave her fro 10 days left over from another chicken. It helped some but didnt clear it up. I will run to walmart and get the otc yeast stuff you recommended. How do I dose it for her? she is pretty good about taking oral medication, but really put up...

Looks like I can get flucanozole at walmart. Any ideas on dosage?

What do you think it is? My biggest concerns right now is the vent. Looking at the protrusion in the 2nd picture I don't know that she will ever be well.

This is Cinnamon. She was a rescue hen and I think she is a little over 2 years old. I have had her for a little over a year. . She is mostly Buff Orpington. and when she was feeling good she was around 5 lbs. Back in about May, she had lice and mites.Which lead to a scabby, poopy bottom...
