My hens have just started laying (1RIR, 2 Silver-laced Wyandottes, 2 Easter Eggers)... so far just the RIR and one of the Wyandottes have laid. But they get SO excited before/during/after laying and the others join in the chorus. My neighbors haven't complained YET but I can tell they do...

I have a follow up question... our girls are 7 weeks old now and are happy in their new coop and attached run. I close them up at night to keep them warm, but since the food/water is outside (under the covered run) do I need to provide a small amount of food and/or water inside the henhouse too...
