I have a chick that was the only one to hatch in a shipped batch of eggs. I had to assist it after 48 hrs with no progress. Her legs seem to be deformed somehow. Does anyone know if I can help it in any way? It's one day old and really doesn't walk.
This chick is about 4 weeks old and already is showing a large comb. I love the feathered feet but can't keep it if it's a rooster. Any idea on Sex and/or breed?
I found a new home for him but now one of the others seems to be showing some signs of being a boy. I have two left that I had hoped were both hens. Opinions? And your correct they are about 15 weeks. ][/IMG][/IMG]
I just had this happen today. The yolk is still attached. About the size of a quarter. I put it in a tea cup on a damp towel and its resting there but doesn't look good. Breathing shallow. Anything else I should do??
Okay. It came out and she is getting a little more active. I got her some yogurt and scratch and she seems better. She is my hen who hasn't laid an egg. Maybe she has something wrong? Can I give her anything else to keep it from happening again?
One of my hens has what I think is an egg hanging out. She had been isolating herself today and has been lethargic. What can I do? It almost looks like a worm but it's not moving.
Out of 12 I got three to come to hatch. They are 1/2 RIR and 1/2 Amerucana. They were shipped eggs and 4 weren't fertile, 4 were early quitters and one never hatched. This was a adventure. I learned so much!
