Get some ear plugs. jk. Ducks like routine, and they don't like things switching up on them too much. They probably miss you and the house. Mine used to quack at me all the time, unless I was outside with them. I noticed if I was only outside with them for a few minutes, and I chose to go back...
Hmmm... She could have eaten something that could have clogged her system, but her crop would probably be pretty hard anyway since it has a really thick wall. I know a lot of people use peas in water to get ducks to eat/drink something. At the very least get her drinking. Do you have anything to...
This is a photo of a cayuga, pekin, and a swede. I wish I had a better photo of these guys for comparison, but if I had to guess I'd say you have a cayuga and swede.... started a poll yet?
My Cayuga is pretty loud... But I think that's her personality. Males are always quiet, but you don't get eggs from them . I only have four ducks, and they're not so loud that I feel bad for the neighbors or anything.
Yeah, I haven't heard of a ban in WA, and I see a lot of Muscovy ducks on craigslist. I'm on the side of preserving our native species. If anyone has unwanted Muscovy, I will slaughter them for you!
On another note, I've read that Muscovy ducks make even better pets than Mallard derived breeds.
The yellow and gray duck is an Ancona (Pops) X Runner (Ma) mix. Not sure yet what it's going to look like, but the yellow is turning into white. Here come the feathers!
