Interested if you ever got any from this batch? One of my geese laid fourteen eggs and never bothered sitting. A different goose took it upon herself to do the brooding and we may have some in a few days.

Hey Peep-Chicken, Your poor girl. We've seen that sad face before. This year we are pasturing with electric net to keep out the bad guys. If you want to rehome him in Jackson, MI he wouldn't be lonely here.

Hi Dportfamfarm, I brood our ducklings in a kiddie pool. They do jump out occasionally, or climb up the slide. I don't think you'd have much luck with chicken wire, unless it was inside the pool. They could become trapped between the pool and the wire if it were outside. Ducks are the best!

Would love to have them. We rotate on pasture near Jackson.

In the end, we lost 23. Townline was very accommodating. The person I spoke to was sympathetic which I really appreciated. DD decided she wanted a refund. She didn't want to risk mailing more chicks. DD even asked if we could drive out and pick them up. It's two hours from here, four hours...

I picked up some electrolytes this morning. We've lost 21 now. I contacted the hatchery this morning. Nothing to do now but try to save the rest. :/

I will call in the morning. I'm afraid to see what it will be like in the morning. :( Poor little sweeties.

I should also mention that they came from a local hatchery, just across the state. The weather has been fairly mild for Michigan
