I do let them out every day so that may have been what it was. I bought a thermometer yesterday to put in the outdoor refrigerator to try and keep the temp where it needs to be. Thank you for your help.

I know you can refrigerate eggs for extended length of time. I took some out last night to scramble and I always crack one at a time in a cup. Several of them were brownish looking (yolk) and seemed tough. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on this. They weren't in the fridge more than...

I use FRM game bird starter. It has worked very well for me. I have great hatch rates with quail...unless I accidentally leave them out too long before putting in the incubator. In six weeks I have them ready to sell to a buyer. I use starter, grower, then breeder. Mine have started laying...

Yes be very careful with chickens and puppies. I have a 4 month old Pyrenees that was supposed to be my guard dog....but has killed one of the rarest roosters I had along with a few others. I did not do my research up front and was told the dog slept with chickens so I thought she wouldn't...

I have researched these birds for nearly a year now and have hatched three sets from the "best" breeding stock. I don't believe there will ever be birds that will not have chicks with "defects". Even Greenfire and FoxFire (Brothers) will tell you this. The Astin Marie birds have defects...

I'm not really sure I would agree with everything said here. I am relatively new at raising Cemanis but I have done quite a bit of research. I have hatched three sets of eggs that came from excellent stock...Greenfire and Foxfire....and even some of those had white toes that turned black...
