It looks like other chickens are pecking at her comb to me. Perhaps there had been frostbite and then they pecked at her injury?? They do that sort of thing...darn it anyway! I'd put some Peck No More on it or antibiotic of some sort. Poor baby!

We've had many days and nights of anywhere from -10 to -34 below zero weather here in Montana. Some days did not get above -4. So the girls were not overly warm. I go out and check on them. We have an alarm to alert us if the electricity has gone off.

I have 17 hens that have been laying regularly. All of a sudden today, I get a pullet size egg from one of my Aracaunas! Any idea why?
