I am looking to buy some sawdust/wood shavings and i am wondering what type to buy.
I am buying from pollards sawdust supplies and on their website (http://www.pollardssawdust.com.au/index.asp) it says to use pine shavings, take a look at the site if you like.

i'm very sorry but all you seem to be saying is discouraging things, and how does "thankyou, anyone else" suggest that the information has not been helpful, i said thankyou. i am just asking for a wide range of opinions.

I have an egg under my hen and it has been there since sunday i candled it just then and i'm wondering, it has an air pocket, does that mean anything? and should i be seing anything on day 2?
and what should i be seeing by days 3-4

thanks for the idea but i sort of want to stay away from paper, is the best saw dust / shaving to use pine? or is rthere another type, and with using shavings / dust do i need to give my chickens grit?
