    Taxidermy

I'm pretty comfortable with taxidermy rd animals, I'm sure it is of debate in some places, but... Does anyone here have any stuffed chickens? I was at an antique shop a few years ago and they had a dusty old taxidermy rooster. It was named something funny I don't remember.

Help!! Builiding an incubator and need an automatic egg turner motor idea ASAP

I'm curious, do you two have the Top Hatch plastic incubators? I had one at one time. Never really liked it. I've always wanted one of the old round galvanized metal incubators that has a Turner. They are super rare!

    Brower Incubator Model 11400-3

They are pretty simple as long as all of the components are working. Most units are turner less! Unfortunately for me, the ones with turners are EXTREMELY rare and hard to find. There is a big round heating element, the wafer thermostat, and the indicator light. The light isn't really necessary...

    Brower 846 instructions

I will try to attach a few pictures of the manual that DBcooper sent to me a few years ago. I hope somehow these can be archived by an admin.

    Incubator fan question

I would suggest mounting the fan so that there is space between the fan and the wall of the incubator. And I would try to find a higher voltage charger, at least 9 volt. See what you can find at a yard sale, thrift store, or even a relative's house. Most people typically have a junk drawer full...

    Leahy Redwood Incubator question?

I have a Leahy 624 redwood incubator, and I've noticed something recently. [/IMG] So that is basically a metal slide-out protective covering for the heating element. I noticed that on the underside of the metal covering it has an advertisement for Rival Crockpot. I was curious if anyone else...

Redwood Incubators - Information, help, for sale and wanted

It may be that way with yours, but from the Leahy manual I read, the water pan was placed above the top tray. I was also speaking from experience with my own leahy cabinet incubator.

Redwood Incubators - Information, help, for sale and wanted

If you don't have the nifty egg turning rails that Bosingleton was talking about, you can use the palm of your hand to roll the eggs around in the tray. Do it 3 times a day If you like. I did it 2 times a day. Immediately when I woke up and right before I went to sleep. They spent the same...

Redwood Incubators - Information, help, for sale and wanted

@ MyHennyHens, you have a beautiful unit. I may have missed the post where you mentioned the price, but I am very curious how much you spent for that beauty?!? You won't be disappointed. Another thing.... There should be some rails along the inside of your incubator, right above the top...

best thermostat for home made incubator??

Wantedman66 is correct. You want to make sure that the back side of the thermostat (the metal side) is facing the lightbulb, and that it is only 1 1/2-2 inches away from the bulb. I also use 2 bulbs in my homemade incubators. Hope this helps.
