One of my 18 month old hens went into a hard molt this morning. Good thing I saw this post because I freaked out when I saw all the feathers in the coop. I thought for sure there would be a chicken carcass laying around. It looked like a pillow fight gone wrong. About how long does it take...
Yeah, I know. He's a horrible crower. I just thought I'd show the difference between him as a chick and what he looks like now. I posted his pics while he was growing up earlier on.

Our "meal Maker" turned out to be a white leghorn. I wasn't excited about it at first but she is the loveliest white bird. She resembles a dove more than a leghorn. She also has the sweetest temperment of any leghorn we've ever had.
After looking at the Brown Red OE, it certainly looks like a possibility. With all the orange on Nibbles, it would seem to be a boy though, which is okay.
