I made a trip to my local feed store today to pick up my poultry feed as usual. As I'm planning to hatch some turkeys and geese soon, I got medicated chick starter for my chicks, and non medicated game bird feed fire the soon to be poults and geese. Does this sound okay, or should I have gotten something different?

Game bird feed likely has too much protein for the ducks and geese. Too much protein causes angel wing. You can feed them either Flock Raiser, or chick starter/grower with added niacin.

Well, what I am planning to do is let them forage most of the time as it is what they do in the wild. The game bird feed will be offered occasionally and I'll get a different food as well.

About how much niacin should be added?  And...is that the same thing as Brewer's yeast?

Yes, Brewer's yeast is a supplement that is most commonly used to add niacin to the feed. Or you can use Poultry Nutri Drench in the water and just follow the directions on the bottle for the dosing.
