Update: it was gone this morning so definitely the crop! Thanks everyone. Is there anything I should watch for though in the future with this. Or just let it do its thing?? I've just never noticed my other ladies doing this
OK so just continue to feed normal? Maybe at night I'll take the food out to see if it's empty in the morning.
ETA: thus is my first time with chicks. All of my ladies are 2-3 years old and we got them when they were 6 months. I've only had the babies for 2 days now .. they were cold and wet...
So I was just massaging it and I could see bubbles in through her skin and when I would apply pressure it would like bubble out of her mouth.. she does have diarrhea too..
So will it leak out on its own? I read to try Epsom salt in their water . Also a mixture of ginger, cinnamon, baking soda and water/lemon juice in a little syringe could help.
Also what if it accidentally ate a shaving while stuck with no food down there? I'm going to try massaging it when I...
Great! Hopefully that's what it is! Of course my worried self just started googling and read how they can get lounge shavings stuck and she was left in a crate full of shavings for idk how long! I hour it is smaller in the morning if not should I take the food away and just give water maybe a...
I will check in the am. Will they normally rest even with the heat lamp on all night? Not sure if they eat while I'm not out there but every time I go out they'rearly (2) huddled up next to each other sleeping under lamp and as soon as I walk in they both get and start chowing!
His/her right so when looking at hI'm left and I did feel it more just a little bit ago it does seem like it may be big and come down like his whole shoulder blade above breast/wing
HI! New to chick raising!! We found 2 little babies on the side of the road yesterday, abandoned in a small cat carrier. I'm thinking they're 3-4 weeks old. We just spotted a small puffy bump on one and don't know what it is.. is it a cyst? Was he/she pecked? Is it an infection?
Anyone see this before? Thought maybe baby didn't get any feathers there yet but it looks a little puffy like a cyst or so? Not sure if she got pecked before or if it's nothing to worry about?
Not sure if someone down there got them from a farm or where.. thinking either someone thought they'd be cool to have and realized they're a lot of work and loud or someone was trying to find roos for fighting
No I'm positive. Someone abandoned them in detroit. She was doing a farm fresh project down there and someone left them in a small cat carrier in front of the building.
Can anyone help me determine if these are able to be sexed yet and a possible age? A friend was doing a project in Detroit and found these babies on the side of the road. I've never had chicks before. I have 7 older hens! Excited but nervous to care for these littles!! Also what breeds? Looks...
