I am needing to find a new loving home for two 6 months old boy ducks, we live in the Denver area but would be happy to drive to Colorado Springs or Fort Collins.
she has been like this for six months or the whole summer. Are there any diet additions that would help feathers grow back? Or what about lotion or ointments to help encourage feather growth? We have several other chickens that do not have this issue so I don’t think it’s parasites.
One of our chickens in Colorado seem to not be growing back their feathers. They eat good, drink water, lay eggs, poop , etc like normal but seems to have bald spots with no new feathers sprouting. We have no roosters and have not seen this chicken or other chickens picking out their feathers...
Hi all,
I have a one year hen who has been mouth breathing constantly. At first we thought it was heat related but she mouth breaths all day and night and the weather has been in the 70s. Her comb is maybe slightly paler than normal but she has been eating, drinking, sleeping, laying eggs and...
Hi, need to know if I’m being dramatic or if this chicken’s comb looks like it has the beginnings of frostbite? We definitely have good ventilation in the coop and outside weather is around 30degF. No other chickens have discolored combs, this one has been sick recently and is small.
thanks
Day four of antibiotics and she seems MUCH better, been supplementing normal food with some corn and other fruits and she is almost back to normal. Still no egg, but thank you so much @Eggcessive @wyorprock and everyone else for you help!
No sour breath and crop definitely emptied overnight. Seems a little better today on day three of antibiotic, ate corn and grazed. Is chicken depression possible?? If so what are cures??
She is pretty much frozen in place most of the time, sleeping, or walking around in very slow motion to eat a little or drink a lot. She has not been in a nest box for 3 days and I have not noticed a sour breath but she does seem to be "burping" so i will double check. Thank you
The antibiotic is Biomox (amoxicillin). She did not have a large enough poop sample to test, but if she does we will bring it to the vet. I checked her crop this morning and it was empty. The rest of our flock has shown none of the same symptoms, and she is definitely not the smallest of the group.
We took her to the vet and got some antibiotics, she doesn’t seemed cured quite yet on two days of antibiotics and the vet did not think she had an impacted or sour crop. She eats a little and drinks a lot of water, still green poops but a little more solid than before.
There is a little bit of solid, but poop is mostly liquid and not normal. I have checked the vent for an egg and did not find one. Thank you for your help!
Thank you.
Thank you! Crop seems very full and puffy, what does this usually mean? Not cold and no signs of bugs. I am attaching a picture of her poop. After bringing her indoors for the night and she ate normally, plus I fed her vitamin water and yogurt-she seemed a little better. I’m now...
