Oh man, that sucks! My babies are inside (haha - in my bedroom!) for now. Not sure yet when I'll move them outside but not for awhile (they are only 5 days old.)

A friend looking at the picture of the chicks thought they were Welsummers but the eggs were a slightly blue-ish white, not brown or speckled. two of the chicks - one day old top view of all seven - 3 days old (fear not, this was just before cleaning their water and refilling their food!)...

I live in Hawaii and we have TONS of feral chickens! I've always joked that I don't understand why eggs cost so much here, since there are chickens EVERYWHERE. So we decided to get what we needed and raise some of the chicks this year. Sure enough, one of the hens nested under our banana tree...
