It is my understanding that the chickens will still lay with less sunlight. They just don't lay as many eggs. Those pullets that are 25 weeks should start laying at anytime. What start do you reside?

My first Egg on 9/8. Laid by a RIR (19 weeks 2 days). Today I got 2 eggs from my RIR's. Means both of my RIR's are now laying for sure. I have a Barred Rock and 3 Buff Orphs that will be 21 weeks tomorrow. Maybe they will start laying next week.

Ideal is easy to deal with and I believe they have the best prices.

$7 is for the box plus $1 per breed plus 15 cents per chick. This is for an order of around 25 chicks. Since you want to order only 15 chicks, the shipping might even be more because they may consider it a small order.

I hope your case is an exception rather than the rule. I just ordered 25 mixed bantams for delivery at the end of next week. Sure hope I fare better than you.

I fished in the Okefenooke at Swuanee Canal, Kings Canal a few times at Stephen Foster. I have never seen anything approaching that many gators at one place. I had never heard of it> Alligator my be protected but there are too many in the swamp. They have no natural predators to worry about.
