This morning I found that one of my 3 Quail seems to of hurt her left leg. She's not moving it and her foot is scrunched over. I haven't got any pictures right now as it's too dark, almost like shes trying to walk on the back of her foot. She's dug up some worms so shes eating and drinking fine...

I usually rinse mine then put them in the fridge, after about 2 weeks if they haven't been eaten I throw them, sometimes my dog eats them in between. We hard boil ours, peel the shell off and eat at work on lunch break :D

Wanting to get some leg bands (specifically just 3,) so I can tell which of my quail are which. Not sure on what size to get...anyone have any idea? If you have a link to some I could buy that would be great!

Are they curious animals? In a sense that if I put something new in their cage, will they go up and investigate it? Will they explore their enclosure ?

How many eggs would a quail lay a day/week when kept under natural sunlight? people say its a lot during summer because of the longer hours but not that many eggs in winter? i can't keep them under constant light as i cant afford to have a light on 24/7!!

I like this one! I think I might use a similar set up for mine since I have limited resources and space.

No not yet! I still have to save up a bit and ask permission to keep them on my uncles land if I can't keep them on my own. Really I'm just waiting on a yes or no answer from either my Uncle or Parents! After that I still need to build the accommodation so it could be another month or so yet! :(

Is it best to have them raised off the floor on a wire floored cage then? I live in the UK in case this helps!
