Hey folks, I'm not new to chickens but am finally looking into trying to work on a specific breed, and not just our own backyard mixes. I've just started reading about genetics, but have some questions. I am trying to read back in the 50+ pages of this thread but maybe someone can answer this...
I have a Cochin chick that was purchased a week ago today. I am not sure how old she is; she is small/hand-sized, but has some adult feathers.

We're still building our coop, but have a plywood floor (so far) that we are planning on covering with vinyl for easier cleanup, and since the plywood isn't treated or sealed.

Beautiful dogs! I know my two will definitely be interested when we get our first chickens. I have a mutt who is actually very gentle with small critters, as long as they don't ask to be chased ... We have a new dog though, and while she is older, we have no idea whether she will want to nibble...
