i dont think it has much to do with the incubator because all the other fertile eggs hatched.

Any one have trouble hatching a pure bred black star mix with a another breed? I had 3 fertile eggs mixed with a aracana (green layer) roster all made it to almost the last day one went rotten (almost fully formed), another never hatched, only one hatched. I was wondering if this is a common...

hears some pics of them they are not very good quality though because they wont stand still long enugh. the one in the bottom corner of the first pic i kinda think is a roster. (he looks smaller but it was also the first born and it is the one i am not sure of the breed)

the dad is an aracona (green layer) roster, the mothers are a black star, 3 aracona hens, and not sure the last one (it came from a small brown egg) i think its either a golden laced wandolt, or a red star (could be a road island red but i think their eggs are bigger) but looks more like a...

i was worried because they seem to lock necks and start fighting at one point one had the others wing feather in its beak and wouldn't let go. seems kinda brutal.

my older black star hen seem to lay different shape and different sized eggs. some are pointy, others are more round, some are a little smaller than the others she lays (but still bigger than any other egg i get)

what types of feather growing patterns will i notice between the baby rosters and hens as they get older? i am almost at week 2.5 and 3.

About when should the peck order start? should i be doing anything different while this is going on? I have 5 chicks and 2 of them seem to be fighting they will be 3 weeks old by Thursday and Friday (23Th,24Th)
