Peep has made herself at home, she was on the counters, in my cooking, becoming a real pest. Finally trained her to sit on top of fridge until dinner ready. There is no keeping her up there when you get the ice cream out. Turned my back to get a spoon and here she is.
Here's my little peep tonight, up on the bathroom mirror. She saw snow for first time today, ran around a bit then headed for the garage. Could see she was in and out all day by her tracks. Had animals of all kinds my whole life, never thought I'd have a lone chicken, hairless dog, toothless...
Wondering about Peep molting. Grams chickens look awful and it's really getting cold. Does her staying inside at night have anything to do with it ? She's out all day and I hope that's ok. We do have a routine, she gets off mirror, comes wakes me up, I let her out, she's free on lots of property...
He's an awful bird. I've never in my life had any animal I couldn't get along with. We can't figure out why he's so mean, mean to the hens as well. I have scars from him where he got above my rubber boots. He even hides and ambushes me when he knows I'm not paying attention. Chases neighbors...
Mine will eat Styrofoam, don't understand why, it can't taste good at all. If grandkids leave a soda cup outside she will be all over it. New rule is NO STYROFOAM! Was worried it might make her sick but she was fine.
My 92 year old grams has the meanest rooster, he will come running when he sets eyes on any one, I have to block him while my grandkids run for the house. usually I ignore him and he is OK, the hens are my friends and come begging for worms when I'm doing yard work, THAT'S WHEN HE ATTACKS...
Thank you so much. I'll read this link you sent right away. I think she must be bantam or at least half, she can fly really well, just got home and she flew straight to my shoulder then to the bathroom mirror once inside. Perhaps she can see herself and thinks it's a friend !? She actually...
Well, I started with five little peeps I got from my grams, brought them home soon as they were born. Recently a dog ran them into the highway, sadly I only have one peep left. She rides on my shoulder while I work outdoors and comes in at night to roost on top of my bathroom mirror. Really not...
