Will garlic help keep mites off the chickens? I read an article that said to take 5-6 cloves of garlic (not the whole bulb), Put in the blender with 2-3 cups of water and then add that to about 2-3 gallons of water and give as the only water source for a day or so to keep the parasites/worms...

Be very careful grabbing a black snake by the tail!! The ones around here are very aggressive. My husband was bit by one just the other day. We have had 3 of them in our coop in the last 2 weeks.

Two babies today!!! I couldn't wait for one of mine to go broody and now I have two!! I think they see each other doing it so it's kind of a 'everyone else is doing so why don't I' thing. Which could get interesting cause I like my eggs for breakfast too!

My neighbors husband is going to keep a very watchful eye on the rest, What gets me is they have a large dog that was outside at the time, He's kind of a chicken(pun not really intended) But I wouldn't think something would be brave enough to grab them in broad daylight with a dog around!

They were just gone no trace except about 5 feathers on the ground, and a small maybe 1 foot wide hole under the fence, No sign of tracks or anything, which is weird because of all the rain it's kinda muddy around the pen.
