Hello. :frow
Recently we were involved in an auto accident and are now in search for a new vehicle. We are looking for a small to midsize SUV that is reliable and has good safety rating as well as comfort and plenty of leg room for the whole family to take day trips in.
We were looking at the...
Hello all.
I'm looking to create a custom bumper sticker as a birthday gift. I've come across a website online that offers customized bumper stickers and its called "Sticker You".
Has anybody ordered from them before? If so, how was the quality of the product and would you order from them again?
My 4 year old Dark Brahma Hen has a severe case of bumblefoot. I didn't realize how bad it was until today when I washed her feet. I realized that her bumblefoot is taking over just about her entire foot pad.
So do I still remove the whole thing even though it is so deep and so massive? I'm...
My young bantam hen just began laying a couple of months ago. She is a barnyard mix, her father was a golden sebright and her mother was an Old English Game Bantam. I have been noticing that she has been spending more time than usual in the nest boxes, and ever since Friday, March 13th, my hen...
My original flock consisted of two "production reds", two black australorps, and two dark brahmas, and I later added two golden sebrights (a male and female).
Over this past year, both of my production reds have died. They were both three years old and were sickly. One died in May and the other...
On June 22nd my golden sebright bantam hen began sitting on a nest of 9 golf balls and 1 of her own eggs. I believe she began nesting in the morning of this day.
On June 23rd at about 9:00 pm I added another bantam egg and removed the golf balls. I moved my hen to a cage with a new nest so that...
My three year old production red hen, Yolka, has been acting oddly for the past year or so. She has been walking slower than normal, and had an "old" look about her. I couldn't figure out what was wrong, so I just let her be. I do remember worming the flock before with safeguard, and I am pretty...
A couple of people have left messages on my profile page (I guess this is called a bulletin board?). I am a little confused as to how to respond. Am I supposed to write my response on my bulletin board or do I go to their profile and do it there?
I responded to them on my page and theirs...
My three year old production red hen, Sunny has been throwing up.
Yesterday she was free ranging with the flock and seemed to stay by herself a lot under a small bush. Her and another hen stayed in the yard a good part of the day while the rest of the flock went back to the coop.
At around...
I have a 3 year old black australorp hen. My hen has itchy ears and today she laid an egg with little bumps all over it. The bumps rub off when I rub the egg. I read something about lice eggs? Would lice lay eggs on my hens egg like that?
Here is a photo:
Thanks all.
I'm in the process of putting shoes on my chicks feet. Band aid on the bottom, sticky side up. I'm aligning the toes and then putting some tape on the top of the foot. I just aligned one foot and did not put the small back toe in the shoe, is this a concern? The shoe only has the three front...
It's day 22 and I had one chick pip Monday night and hatch yesterday (Tuesday) morning.
I have three more eggs that still haven't done anything. All were developed and moving on day 18 when I candled them.
I have been candling them a little through the glass of my homemade incubator, and egg...
I have 14 eggs in my homemade bator. 10 of which are likely infertile, so I don't expect much from them.
The remaining 4 eggs are golden sebrights and appeared to be developing well on last candling.
Today is day 17 for me. Tomorrow starts lockdown.
Not much longer now! Feels like it's...
I have a teeny 2 year old Sebright rooster and some very large hens. Black australorp, production reds, and dark brahmas. I have had 14 eggs in my incubator for the past week. 10 are large eggs, and 4 are bantam eggs. I candled them all today and only the 4 bantam eggs appear to be developing...
...her to the basement she squawked like crazy. It went on for a while, but she eventually stopped.
My issue is, my basement is kept at about 80*F, and the outside temperature is about 20-30*F. I like taking her for short trips outside, and she seems to enjoy it too. Except, lately she has...
My australorp hen was found in the Coop this morning laying down on the floor. She is very lethargic and seems like she was pecked on the head. I cleaned the cut out with peroxide and put flour on the cut to help stop the bleeding.
Her crop is hard feeling and I'm not sure what to do. She won't...
My almost 3 year old New Hampshire hen has an enlarged earlobe on her right side. She did have an enlarged earlobe this summer and I can't remember which side it was or if it ever went back down to normal size.
Here is a picture taken today
What causes this? Could it be a tumor?
Thanks in...
I have a flock of 8 chickens. 1 bantam rooster and 1 bantam hen, both were hatched in March 2012. Then I also have 6 standard sized hens, all were hatched in March 2011.
The bantam hen is fine, she is laying well. The 6 big girls on the other hand, are not laying. I only have 1 hen laying out...
A family member lives on a pond and has just recently acquired a new flock of wild ducks. They feed the ducks everyday. She wants to add two white ducks to her pond.
Is this an okay thing to do? Will the ducks have to be cared for, or will they find everything they need on their own? How about...
Over the winter while eating a store bought mango, I decided to crack open the seed and plant it in my miniature indoor greenhouse and see what happens. Well, to my surprise I ended up with a mango plant. I planted another seed and now I have two mango plants.
My problem is, they can't stay in...
