I bought this bird as a cockerel as a chick. Just bought four pullet chicks to go with him. It is a cockerel right? He’s with a bunch of pullets the same age of different breeds and doesn’t have much comb still or terribly rooster like behavior.
Maybe my hands are just shaky, but my eggs always roll when I put the basket in and out and the basket is a little too narrow to easily slide onto both rails. Does anyone have any modifications they use?
So a few weeks ago, I posted these two thinking definitely cockerels. They’re about ten weeks now and the one has such a different comb. Still two boys?
Everything I hatch or buy it’s like 2/3 to 3/4 roosters this year. 😭😭😭😭 I don’t mind keeping this Leige fighter if it’s a pullet, but I definitely don’t want a cockerel. It was part of a fun egg assortment I bought. I know it’s a cockerel. I think I’m just whining at this point. Tell me anyway 😆
I bought them from Tractor Supply because I wanted to give my beautiful legbar pair a few extra girls. What did I end up with? One is very small and there are three different patterns. Pretty sure the two are actually legbars. Are they even pullets?
I just want to make sure before I send him off with the rest of the extra boys that he definitely is a boy. He seems to have a bit more brown on his chest than the other two and his comb is a smidge paler. The for sure hen has an almost completely salmon chest though. I’m 99.9 percent sure he is...
I bred my barred olive Egger hen back to my welsummer rooster to see if I can get speckled olive eggs. Half the chicks have welsummer coloring and half are black. Are they autosexing? I’d love to be able to rehome a few definite pullet chicks to a lady in the city. She can’t have roosters
I am positive my one American buff is a Gander, but he has developed a very distinct brood patch, just like one of the geese. Do ganders get brood patches or do I have the most outgoing, slender necked goose in history instead of a gander? (They are coming up on a year and I am still figuring...
I know how to sex Coturnix quail but I am not sure on button quail. Can you tell visually with these colors? Hoping I have figured out two pair, as I had a terrible hatch rate and ended up with 6 total so I don’t have many to choose from.
First set of two:(light gray)
Second set of two (red...
I think I have a gander and four geese, but I guess I won’t know for sure until they start nesting. Anyone want to take a guess? I have individual portraits of each one and then some group shots. They are a very compatible group and very sweet. Hopefully they aren’t too vicious next spring but...
Oops. They were $1 and I couldn’t resist. What breeds did I get?
(I have 3 Khaki Campbell and 3 Swedish in here along with the six I’m not sure of. Please say this lil dude is not a male Golden 300?)
Fingers crossed I have one of each? I also have four pullets, so am hoping for at least one cockerel. The little black guy seems to be developing some manly characteristics.
