Does Mareks start out light green poo? This is the only symptom. I found a bit brighter stool today I need to grab pic. This one is frozen. Flock hasn’t had greens lately
More silkies is always the answer! 🤣 Does this pullet look “blue” to you? Or is she a different color? I believe the roo I thought was “gray” is actually “blue” and they look nothing alike
Ha! True. the white and gray are hatch mates and get along great for the most part currently. Any idea if that will change once introduced to the ladies? I’m assuming I’d have to worry about over breeding if I have a 2 to 4 ratio?
Well @LadiesAndJane was correct! I have four ladies and four roosters. Question for those who understand genetics: Which of my roosters should I keep to have the most color variations of chicks?
Pullets:
Splash
Gray (?)
Partridge
Blue
Roos:
White
Gray
Black (2)
Here they are! I had to show you the white roos chest. I’ve never seen one so big. He reminds me of a buff cartoon hero 🤣 Him and the gray are hatch mates. The blacks are the same age as the other 4 hens (hopefully) I posted up above.
You totally made my day!! I have 8 silkies total close in age & 4 are roos hands down. I was starting to feel I was jinxed lol Now to decide which roo to keep or to make a bachelor coop 😫 I love them all
Any guesses on these 4?! 🥰
All are 17 weeks old. All different colors. Splash. Gray. Partridge & Blue
** These pics display only the 4 silkies in question. The other two of the bunch are 100% roos & have shown it for weeks now.
I’m in the same situation. I’ll be building something like this but at a smaller scale outside my coop - within the run. I won’t be including stairs, I was thinking a wide ramp instead. Ideally I’d like coop to be 1-1.5 ft off ground so I don’t lose run space but I may have to lower it due to...
Thanks for the suggestion! It’s worth a try. I’ve been experiencing so many things within this coop I’m unsure if they’re linked together or not. Random shell less eggs, really rough egg deposits at times, diarrhea - the Poopy butt and latharic towards the end.
No change in food besides more...
Thank you so much for caring. This site has definitely lost its ‘helpfulness’. Perhaps the knowledge left? It’s sad. I lost another lady today. I’m unsure of what to do. Again, thank you for giving a damn. I appreciate you!
...red. I thought it was vent gleet. I bathed her yesterday, isolated her and she passed last night. Now I’m noticing another is doing the same. She just pooped what looks like egg white?! Slight poopy butt. Any insight?!
EDIT** she just passed a soft egg. Still lethargic but eating and drinking
Thanks for your help! We chose CornishX this year because of a time constraint. I hope you don’t mind, I’m gong to message you with a few questions so I’m not totally hijacking this thread!
