So my girlfriends mom has a rescue potbelly pig that is in dire need of having its feet trimmed.
The nails are about 4-5 inches long and the vet wants 1500$ just to trim them.
I told her Id look into it.
The vids I have found on YT and such are not very helpful as far as details.
Is anybody...
My chickens have access to pretty much anything in the yard.
One has come down with a inflated/impacted/sour crop.
I held the chicken upside down to drain it.
The funk that came out was absolutely disgusting, mostly liquid bt the smell was like something died.
Alot came out.
At first the crop...
So my backyard has alot of privet trees in it, and my chickens too.
I have recently noticed that the chickens will jump up to pick single berries off the lower branches.
Its actually quite comical.
So I figured Id help them out and I pulled off a few bunches of the berries and threw to the...
So this is my suspected american rabbit doe.
It was cold and rainy last night.
I go out this morning and find she had pulled a bunch of hair and made a flat nest out of it.
She is an older doe, and had never seemed interested in breeding with ANY of my bucks, tho they would chase her all...
So I was watching tv a few minutes ago, and I heard a ruckus in the other room, the dog was snarling and growling at something that was faintly squeakin . . .
I go in, and my awesome little JRT had found himself one of the rats that been stealin my animal feeds.
When I first got in there, it...
So a while back I responded to an ad on CL about some rolls of rabbit wire . . .
I ended up trading a small old outboard motor for 4 rolls, the rolls are 1x2" mesh and 200'x 18".
Fast forward a week, the guy calls me back and says the motor is too big for his boat(itsa small 6hp motor, Ida...
So, Im really hungry . . .
I was planning on processing all my chukar over the last weekend, but decided one more week of corn-fed couldnt hurt.
I really wanna just go butcher my 2 biggest fatty chukars and cook em up for this evenings dinner.
They would go from the cage to the oven in about...
I asked on the easygarden site, but maybe more farmers here.
What sqft of land grows a bales-worth of hay.
I have some orchard and oat grass seed to plant once I get my soil in good condition.
My plan is to grow my own hay for my rabbits, using compost made here and a rototiller.
All said, I...
So once they get to maturity, they pretty much pick each other to death.
I have lost so many birds in the last 2 weeks to this it aint even funny . . .
I have seperated them, I have tried to seperate by sex as best I could.
I seperated by extent-of-picking, and I seperated by putting pickERS in...
Im asking for people with DIY hutches, homemade cages, and such like that to show some pics of whatcha got?
Im trying to get a few new ideas for my next coupla hutches, I have a 200' roll of 1"x2" rabbit wire coming next week, and was given a bunch a left over lumber recently.
Thanks for your...
So Ive noticed, maybe its just in my head, that I can "taste" the processed food I feed to my quails when I eat them.
Personally, I dont like it.
So I been feeding my quial a bunch of the cheaper rabbit food I have been getting with rescued bunnies.
It has just enough protein in it for the...
So I found some really nice hay today, its a combo of orchard grass, rye, and timothy, 2nd cut and nice and green still, but dry.
I can feel the stems and such, and they are just the perfect texture.
I feed hay to my rabbits . . . no alfy or other legumes.
The bales were so nice and fresh, I...
So I know Ive asked about rabbits getting along with each other in the past . . .
I just got 2 male californians today, they love to be around each other, I think they are brothers . . .
I also got 2 females earlier this week, separately of course.
Id like to get the 2 females to bond so I...
So a new rescue was recently given to me, and she is great other than a bit of crusty-lookin flaky scab in her ears.
I was figuring to just rinse it out with a dog/cat ear wash type stuff.
I have never seen this before, and cant find too much info about it.
The rabbit used to live on the...
I was contacted by a person who wants me to take in 2(TWO) young rabbits that have splayed back legs.
At this point, that is all I know, dont know cause(slippery floor/genetics) or the exact age of the bunnies.
I did a bit of research on the subject, and the outcome is usually grim, or a lot of...

I rescued a bunch of rabbits from CL over the last 2-3 months, and these are the favorites that I think Ill keep.
I plan to add a true purebred flemish giant to my rabbitry.
