Anyone have any interesting observations form over the years of watching...
I am here in South Tampa and just about everytime I put up a bird house I get bees. Well I just discovered how to make the whole situation work .... I hope.
If you want to see the whole sorted affair check it out here!
My McMurray order of Leg Horns, Black & Red Stars are almost full grown! Two of six are laying delicious eggs and this afternoon they spent pecking scratching and fighting in the backyard. Things got a little bloody!
I recently constructed a couple of coops designed to keep two free range laying hens secure through the night. I used plywood and painted it withWhite Siliconized Elastomeric Roof Coating . Here is the result.
I ordered six Red Star pullets from McMurray it is Day 11 and one of them is not like the others. What might this be?
Five are like this ..............
and then bugack this little one looks like this!
I am thinking of ordering leghorns from McMurray Hatchery but that would mean 25 chicks.
Is there anyone near South Tampa with an alternative. I would like to get a few good laying hens
to supply my morning scambled egg habit.
Oh yeah
A little something I did not mention about my Inverness adventure was my acquisition of two birds. Each bird was $10.00 which I gladly handed over to Ron K. for a little black OEGB and Jimmy Swanson for a Columbian Rock.
The girls are all settled in now and getting along just fine.
