so I have a 4-week old chick crowing..its the funniest thing! I couldnt figure out what was going on at first but then realized he made the noise right after he heard my serama rooster crow. its too funny! hows everyone elses chicks? I sold 4 of my faverolles including a roo. My cochins are...
oh I like them... I have 3 girls and a roo named Mr. Fluffers... he's my avatar. I just know I can get more anytime lol. My big girls lay everyday... and quite frankly they hold their own fine with my other hens... they aren't as docile as what I have read and definitely not quiet... they talk...
There are a few I could part with of my 10... my faverolles which came from my flock. ..but my EE and cochins are just too sweet to part with. I think 3/4 cochins are frizzled... One smooth but they are so sweet. I think I'll name the EE Big Bird because it's so much bigger than the others...
oh yeah absolutely evenings are ok then and really it wasn't bad but I just missed my kiddos during the school year... now I get up and still have the afternoon and evening free so it works out pretty good.
well I worked evenings in heme for about a year but hard when you have kids and wanna see them so I opted for nights instead. nights are pretty decent actually compared to the other shifts so I don't complain.
I think we like chickens cause we are inside in the lab so long that it's nice being...
oh im setting more the first week of Feb... lol. My polish are flighty except one but he is special needs... crooked beak crooked tail... sad little dude but he seems ok and happy and he follows me everywhere.
sorry about optimus prime. My EE that needed help getting out of the shell seems ok...calm compared to the others but sweet. Maybe give it some lytes. Maybe just needs a little more rest.
yeah it was stable.. I thought the humidity was decent but maybe they needed a little more.. regardless I'm happy for my first hatch... I had 2 incubators going... my daughters and mine. It's all just a learning experience. I'll be giving it another go very soon.
from what I can see... looks to be humidity issue... several were fully formed... membranes looked good but there was no internal pip. I didn't take pics but from what I can recall they looked good otherwise. There were a few that looked to die by day 10. These were shipped eggs too. All the...
I do have a question for you Sally... After we unplugged the bator... we dissected the ones that didn't hatch... several were fully formed so im guessing more towards the end they died. When I locked them down.. I didn't bother them but before I locked down I checked for movement and they were...
cochin baby.. I call it rusty.
EE that needed a hand at hatching (very sweet and calm) and the little yellow ones are salmon faverolle and they are little Devils.. not a bit calm
