I got the EcoGlow 20 which is the same concept. My chicks LOVE it. It's cute seeing them peeking their head out from under there but I do miss seeing them all the time lol.
Im in the same boat. I have 11 chicks that have hatched and have 7 more that have nothing going on. My gonna wait until tomorrow evening to water test as today is day 21. I'd love for the other 7 to hatch but I think it's kind of weird that nothings going on with them and 11 others have hatched...
That's where ours was. It's beak was stuck to the membrane so it couldn't finish getting around. There was no blood and we really had to wet membrane down. Once I put him back in the incubator he finished breaking out.
@MindyNE I agree I have learned so much too. I actually had worse luck...
@tishl don't be. It seems to happen real fast. Woke up to 7 babies this morning.
Had to help this guy. He was stuck to his shell. He was the first to pip but that was 2 days ago. We now have 8 chicks and 10 left to hatch.
I can hear them talking but it's hard to tell who it's who with 3 babies in there now lol.
Deb I want it lower but it's not cooperating lol. I am at around 80 with 3 chicks in there so I guess I'm not doing too bad.
The hatched babies are starting to dry off but it's taking them a while. The vent holes are open but the humidity is way high. I know it gets higher once chicks start hatching but is it a good idea to crack the lid a tad for more ventilation? And to reduce humidity? What is too high? Should...
I think you are right. They have since moved the other chicks shell around and there is gunk in there too. So I guess it is normal. There are so many pips in there but no more babies yet. I won't help them because I don't feel comfortable doing it and I don't want to open the incubator to...
It is kind of a green/grey/yellowish thing sort of looks like the yolk of a hard boiled egg. Chick seems to be doing great so I guess it was just normal gunk lol. My silkie isn't really doing anything. I can't hear any chirping over the 2 babies that have hatched lol. Anytime I tap at the...
That little silkie egg pipped last night, but has not progressed anymore since then. I have had an olive egger pip, zip and hatch this morning, and another OE that is in the process of zipping and should be delivered in the next 30 minutes or so. Should I be concerned that the original silkie...
So maybe tomorrow. This waiting is killer! Anyone have any pips on day 19. Incubator has even on the warmer side and I heard that might cause an earlier hatch.
When did you all start getting pips? Today is day 19. I had an egg shaking yesterday after we went into lockdown but today nothing. There's nose prints all over the incubator lol. We are so impatiently waiting for these babies.
Just candled our 18 remaining eggs. All look good air cells are growing well I think, I am a little worried they are a little on the small side, but they have definitely grown quite a bit in the past 4 days. Added 3 baby food jars with sponges in them and placed them under the two vent holes...
Ok well I get that. Now that you've done it fill that suckered up! I'm already ready to fill mine up again. Gotta wait until it's warm enough outside for these babies to go outside and free up the brooder.
you mean your not chasing those hens around making sure you know whose eggs are whose lol. I had (they quit until spring apparently) barred rocks and buff orpington. I have no clue who lays what egg but they aren't fertile. I only have a houdan rooster and the girls aren't having any of his love...
