For the mice: make an upside down "T" out of PVC pipe. Drop mouse bait down the leg of the "T" to where it will sit in the middle of the bottom part. Then set this next to the wall of the coop. Chickens can't get the bait and the mice will run in the PVC pipe and eat away!
I am doing my RN-BSN online now. I definitely recommend online if you can stay focused. It's great for a busy schedule. I have three kids ages 5, 3 and 1. Only work weekends right now.
Thank you everyone for all of the replies. I was also considering just taking 5 gallon buckets of pond water (I have a pond but don't want it overtaken with duckweed because we like to fish) and just filling up the kiddie pool with that. Would that water have enough nutrients without having to...
I have been researching duckweed and found how to grow it, but I do not want to put it in my pond because it will rapidly take over. I do have a kiddie pool and was wondering if anyone know if it will grow in there with just rain water? Everything I read said it has to be pond water with fish in...
I have watched the video, maybe I missed it. I go into forums and click "new posts" which brings up 16 pages of new posts since my last visit. After looking through those pages, I clicked "mark forums as read" which marked all 16 pages as read. I exited the internet and went back in to see if it...

Wow! 10,000 seems like so many. My chickens free range everyday as well. So, you are planning to feed them as a supplement for the free range ones and then will you be feeding mostly mealworms or feed to the ones in the coop?
I am considering starting a small mealworm farm. I thought would start with 500 worms. I currently have 50 chickens. Would this be enough worms? Can they be fed as the main source of feed or as a supplement? I am completely new to mealworms but thought it would be worth a try.

Using your incubator is a great idea, I'm planning on using mine this year, too. I usually use a heating pad in a box to start my seeds, and this year I will use both.
Do I need to set the humidity or just turn that off and water them?
Thank you everyone for the replies. I think I may have my setup...my husband had previously taken down the screen in our breezeway and put up full windows (he actually used the full sheets of glass from sliding glass doors), but there were two feet spaces on each side of the glasses that he had...

When I paid the express, they were guaranteed to be there by 12 noon the next morning. I got an email from the guy who bought them and he said they updated the tracking and they should be there today. I am going to call my P.O. and file a claim because I paid for express, not priority...
I will definitely be at the P.O. in the morning! Thank goodness I sent it express mail. At least that gives me a day to deal with the P.O. I hate to think what would have happened if I did send them priority and the chicks were just sitting around lost for a couple days....
I will let you all...
