had 3 hens of this breed and didn't know it until i found this sight! we had just called them game hens up till now but anyway.... beautiful breed and good layers as well as hardy. one of our hens brooded around 2 times in a year so they can be like that and moderate agression towards the others.
overall a good chicken and if they keep themselves clean very pretty. but they can be prone to pick on the younger ones since they tend to be lower in the pecking order
We had him a couple years ago but never figured out his breed. Now I'd like to get another but haven't found a definite answer online anywhere.
i was thinking sicilian buttercup, but his coloring is closer to an ameracauna and neither of those explains the feathers on his head.
