Thank you but that wasn't enough info. I was hoping to hear about the neosporan treatment I heard about here last year. This baby definitely has a problem.
Having problems breathing as you described with the mouth open is surely a sign of worms. The worms actually get in the throat. Try diatomaceious earth..food grade. Just mix small amount in food. Can be purchased at TSC. Diatomaceious is great to keep around. I even get rid of ants with it.
I can hardly wait to get started hatching eggs again. I'm just getting over the 50+ I've had in the brooder this year. Have 11 guinea in there now. Guess its time to fill the incubator again. I feel the erdge. All I have sitting now is a duck. I don't brooder those.
He is a handsome boy! Do you know what you call his coloring? Do you know what his parents look like? At the moment all I have is white. I have a black frizzle almost grown I will breed before the end of the summer. Then next year I'm frizzling all color cochen. I don't want to get stuck with...
that's about rite..5 eggs a week when she's laying. I know some hatcheries don't make some breeds available. I keep moving my girl around. That may be why she stopped laying this time. She's my big baby. Actually she is the best trained sweetest bird I have. They're very smart docile birds. Her...
I also have a red rose comb sizzle. He is first generation. I'm going to breed him back with some silkie hens. He does have the dark feet though but not the extra toe. If I breed him back it will strengthen the silkie gene. Next year will be a busy year for me. I have some new cochin bantams...
I recognize these beautiful birds from your blog. I'm on my first generation sizzle now. Lots of experimenting to do. I have a question about the rose comb. How many generations before you got your first blue rose?
When my pair of Mille Fleur got sick I brought them in & kept there eye area clean & did my best to keep them open. I had to separate the to as birds not meaning harm will peck at the eyes. When my hen could not see I feed her meal worms by sticking her whole head in the container. It was the...
I've been bringing mine in at night. I'm worried about my smallest bantams. I have some that must be close to 6 weeks that are very small but well feathered. They sure are a happy bunch now. I go by the rule -5 degrees every week in temp for chicks but size matters & its been in the 60s here at...
In another BYC thread I learned that putting moth balls in a plastic bottle hanging close to the ground keeps snakes away. I was told to drill small holes at the bottom of a 20oz plastic bottle, fill half way with moth balls & hang every 10 ft. around the coop area or wherever you want to keep...
