I had my breeding pairs in cages in a horse stall . If you remember we had a cold winter and when it got cold, it STAYED cold for weeks and weeks. Since I also had younger chickens and Coturnix Quail in the stall, when it got down below super cold, I put out a few heat lamps to keep the brutal...
I am seeking African Harlequin Quail from lines outside the US. The birds can be in the US, but the LINE must be from either Europe, Asia, or Africa. I will be happy with live birds or hatching eggs.
I am also looking for Silver Coturnix Quail. I can do either live birds or hatching eggs...
Here is some of the information .
2) I use Purina Game Bird Layer, Layena. Non-medicated. It works well for my breeders. It is not the cheapest feed at the store, but it does well with the quail.
3) I use standard paper towels, White Scott, and they have enough texture so the chicks dont...

I did get an order in and it is a good thing. I am glad that we were finally able to make a connection . I think those quail will be the best available. I recomend it,.
It only gets worse. Keep your eyes on Craigslist so you can find a nice used GQF . That'll scratch your itch (for a while) We started out with 12 Quail and things got all out of control. We are hatching 300 right now and have hatched and raised 1000's . Great fun cool hobby
I got some breeding pairs a few months ago and also some hatching eggs. The breeders have started laying and the eggs hatched and the chicks have grown up pretty good. I am working on getting some more bloodlines as the ones in the US seem to be limited. Any idea on where to get some fresh...
I tried to order from that link mentioned above. The quality seems high and the owner knows his stuff.. I have not been able to place an order despite an email and 4 phone messages and 2 very brief phone calls with no follow up. Ugh .
They will probably lay off and on until they get about 10 weeks old and then they will be steady. 99.5 degrees and 45-50% humidity is what I use in the incubator.
