I have a 4 week old chick that makes a "gagging" motion pretty often. I have 13 in all of this bunch but this one is the only one doing this. All of them keep their craw pretty full of food and this one is no different. I would say that this one's is a little off to the side more though. I offer...

I have a rumpless hen who I noticed as she was drinking today that she had a large buildup of poop on her backside (first time for any of my birds). I was holding her by the feet for 10 or so minutes trimming the poo vent feathers and she vomited. OK, Did she simply loose her water that she just...
For what reason, I don't know but my 7 girls and Mr. Rooster have been drinking alot the past couple of weeks. 2 gallons did last 2-3 days now every day.
This started during the extreamly cold snap and even though its warmed up they're drinking habits haven't changed.
......Dunno, any insight?
OK, so I have decided that I need to get in better shape. A few days before that I loaded the bator (22 of my RIR eggs and 7 Black Copper Marans Eggs that I paid good money for). I was turning the eggs this morning and was candling a few to see if they were veining yet. My arms are kinda sorta...
The Black Copper Marans eggs came in today!! (I ordered 6 they sent 7 and none broke) Just picked them up from the PO. Gonna put them in late this afternoon along with 24 of my RIR eggs. Bator has been running for 2 days and all is looking good. Hoping for a good Feb. 25/26 hatch!!!
First of all, I should have waited and put all my eggs in at one time instead of staggering by 3 days. Lesson learned.
Every now and then there is a temperature fluxuation, I don't really know why, but I stressed over it too much.
It's hard to leave it alone.
When its all over the 'bator...
I have five 24ish hour old hatchlings that are in the brooder. they all are pecking at food but one is a little sluggish and keeps one eye closed most of the time. Other than that he/she seems alright. Ya'll reckon it's OK?
Its day 19. I was looking at the hydrometer and what do I hear? chirping! They have not pipped yet.....how long do I have? Is this on normal schedule? This is my first time.......I'm so excited!
I just CAN'T get the humidity up in my LG still air! I'm using sponges, taped a bottom corner vent hole and added water to that part of the bottom, using hot water. It got up to 50% for a couple of hours but is now falling back off (I assume as the hot water cooled). I'm getting flustered!
I raise RIR's and love the eggs. I visited the local trade day yesterday where a few people were selling chickens. One guy was selling BB Red Bantams. They are beautiful and I understand having "pets" but is the main reason to have banty chickens?
