Another Floridian here! On top of shade and frozen treats, I'll sometimes run a hose in the yard so they can walk through the puddles and get their feet wet.
Thank you, I may have to look into that. I know summer isn't the greatest time to get fertile eggs, but we're starting up our chicken farm again and I'm so anxious to hatch, lol!
When we were in chickens a few years ago, we sold through Craigslist all the time. (Getting back into chickens in the next few months, can't wait!! I love to hatch!!) We wouldn't let people come after dark and my husband was always there with me when people came out. We never had any issues.
Oh wow, this was so long ago and I was obviously still new to chickens, lol! They ended up being a male and a female. The rooster was from the devil!! Meanest rooster we ever had. He would go into attack mode the instant he saw a human.
I hatch chicken eggs all the time and don't have any issues. I've been using the Hovabator 1588 with an automatic egg turkey for the turkey eggs. I've had the humidity between 45-55% during incubation and about 63-65% during hatch. I haven't done any eggtopsies, but when I candle on lockdown...
Thank you! I'm having the hardest time with turkey eggs. Chicken eggs, piece of cake, but these turkey eggs are frustrating me. I'll try this next time around.
Hi everyone! Has anyone ever crossed a Wheaten Ameraucana rooster with any of the following hens to get Easter Eggers? Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orpingtons, Speckled Sussex or Light Brahmas? If so, did you have success?
Thanks!
