Concern for splay leg in ducklings hatched by broody.

Thank you for your support. Duckie came out to say hi. So it's walking on straw I will put a welcome mat under straw after the second and final egg hatches. I appreciate calm heads when I am not using mine. Thank you @sourland and @casportpony

Concern for splay leg in ducklings hatched by broody.

First WANDA my Muscovy hen is not my biggest fan. Her first egg hatched last night. Her brooder is basically an old plastic dog house with hay that leads into a safe dog kennel with a ramp. MY CONCERN / QUESTION IS... When I checked on her this morning I noticed she had dug down in the hay...

Woman does not live by bread alone ;) This girl is a survivor! She is the last remaining of a flock of 8. I told DD I would take her in after her flock was literally taken by a bobcat. She saw herself in the mirror and was so happy she was no longer alone. She will meet some non-reflective...

Also for canning. I do chicken vegetable soup. When it is time to heat it up, that is when I add dumplings. I can beef chunks carrots and potatoes in beef stock. To serve that is when I add a thickener like cornstarch or gravy if I want stew. Or I can just serve it as soup.

I can my sauce. When it is time to eat I put sauce, noodles in slow cooker for about 30 minutes to an hour depending on how much I am making for the evening. * edit to add. I Don't add water to it as the sauce heats it cooks the noodles and the sauce is all I add Hope this helps
