    Coturnix quail issue

I just recently had two coturnix hens die of something that I can not figure out. The first bird went from being healthy one day to looking lethargic, having a swollen and squishy area around her vent, and she appeared to have lost a lot of weight. Thinking it might possibly be egg bound I gave...

    Quail with Joint issue

I have a coturnix that has a swollen hock so bad that she is forced to walk on her hock because her lower leg is stiff and not usable. I have kept her separate cage and on shavings instead of wire so she doesn't have to move much to get food and water and so she can rest her legs. Her other...

    Quail Problem

I noticed that one of my birds looked like she was trying to push something out and there was a bulge right behind her vent. I thought she might be egg bound so gave her a warm 15 min bath. During the bath her bulge got larger and she started pushing harder. After I dried her off she was not...

Leg Problem with some of my birds in my flock!!

Every once in a while I would get a bird that was not able to stand, usually because of an injury that happened seconds before. But on one occasion I had a bird that just collapsed. To help these birds I would keep the bird separate from the flock. I would put a towel into a doughnut shape and...
