Oh okay, that's good to know. We don't want to hatch any eggs now but I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something wrong with the male. Thankfully the females are still laying pretty good. I was thinking about getting a few Cayugas next year, are they seasonal breeders too?

Thanks for all of the support everyone. It was one of my little dominique hens :( I hope this doesn't happen again but if it does we might try to treat it first since it seems like a prolapse isn't a death sentence after all.

Wow I would definitely complain to someone, that guy should be fired. Our mailman is pretty lazy too but not that bad. Two days ago we were feeding the chickens and one hen was getting chased so she jumped on a roost to get away from the roosters. All of a sudden a bloody egg fell right out of her and smashed on the ground. We then noticed that she had a really bad prolapse and was dripping blood and droppings...
