Hello All,
I have a duckling in the first stages of hatching and has just began to pip at the shell. The only reason I saw this is because I went to candle the egg for signs of life i noticed the shell broken a bit on the bottom. Should I let the duckling hatch this way witH the egg oriented...
Hello All,
I have been reading the forums and haven't seen my questions answered. I would like to know, out of the lifetime of a duck, how long they lay eggs. I understand chickens don't lay their whole life, and usually become meat. Is this true for a duck?
Also, I've been reading about the...
Here are the photos of "Ducky" hopefully this can give you an idea of what may be happening. I think she may have bumble foot on her back right leg... but I'm not certain of this. I beleieve the last photo is of greatest importance.
Well from the looks of things in a photo I'm about to post, her right leg, left side looking at the photo, is swollen compared to her left leg. I will post some pictures, I just have to get her to stay still.
My female peking has been limping on and off for about a month now. Is there anything I can do for her without going to a vet? I have her confined to reduce the risk of possible injury. I would love to hear what others have to say :-) thank you!

I will be having my first goose this Spring and I wanted to get your opinion on the Toulouse. I have heard they are like guard dogs for any animal trying to get near the flock, however they will be nice to the person that raised them.
Are males more aggressive than females?
What are...
I made my decision on what duck breeds I'm going to stick with for this season. The cayuga, rouen, buff, blue swedish, and welsh harlequin. I'm going to hold off on the khaki campell.... and I would really like crested ducks .because they look so cute, but we'll see.
Thank you everyone for your responses thus far. I have nervous pekings because of trauma they had before I got them as ducklings. I can at least pick up my runners, but they all seem to have nervous behavior. I wish my pekings were more relaxed. I was also told the khaki campells are nervous...
Hello all,
I am planning on ordering all different types of ducks this year and would like to know a little more about the temperament and/or personality of the ducks or anything else you could think of that could be a deciding factor. I am more concerned with skittishness because I plan to use...
