Thanks for the response! So you think things sound pretty normal for her? Is there any reason for a hen to just not lay? Like I said, I'm pretty new to all of this.
I am only one year into chickens and could use a bit of advice. After rehoming a couple of Silkie Roos last winter I picked up a Cream Legbar pullet and another Silkie to replace them. (Ironically THIS Silkie is also a roo but that is for another thread. Arrgh!)
I did not get a hatching...
I have found both of my Roos a home! Hooray! So happy to see them going to a great home and equally excited to be picking up their replacements the same day. This time I am not playing the guessing game! It is pullets only for me.
Rehoming roosters sucks!
Thanks to everyone who had offered...
Anyone able help me out? Two of my three summer Silkie chicks have begun crowing their fluffy heads off- which is a problem as I am not zoned for chickens. I would just collar them but I feel like the 2:1 ratio isn't working well for my hen and I also would like some layers. Anyone interested...
I am at a loss! I even have an ad on Craigslist and I haven't heard a thing. So frustrating! I think they know I am up to something, too, because I swear they are crowing double today!
Good call on the photos. I will get those right up! Thanks!
I am desperately looking for a kind soul (or two) to rehome at least one but preferably both of my Silkie roos. I am in a tight spot as I am not really zoned for chickens and as luck would have it, 2 of my 3 summer chicks have turned out to be roosters and are crowing their fluffy little heads...
Hmm... The eggs may be a very fun project for my daughter and the idea of having this beautiful egg assortment is extremely tempting! Where exactly are you located? How about some prices? Thanks for these quick responses!
Looking for two or three Silkies to add to my tiny backyard flock. Would prefer pullets but would take the chance with chicks if need be. Where exactly are you located? I am in Hobart. Really hoping you have something available!
Wondering if you have any pullets for sale? I am fairly certain that I purchased two chicks from you this summer, actually! Looking for a few more but can't take a chance on getting Roos.
Forgive me if this in not the place to post this, it is my first day on the forum! I am in Hobart and in a hurry to rehome a 6 month old Silkie roo. Also, I am looking for at least one (preferrably 2 or 3) pullet to replace him. Anyone know any Silkie breeders on North West Indiana? If not...
Hi, hope it is okay to barge in on this conversation! I have a buff Silkie roo that I need to rehome. He is about 6 months old and not aggressive. I also am desperately searching for at least one (preferrably 3) pullets to add to my tiny flock. I am having an awful time tracking down Silkies...
