This could be the yolk sack that wasn't fully absorbed in the shell like it should have been. If it is the yolk sack, I think it should dry up or be absorbed by the morning. Please keep us updated!

Hi, thank you so much! Could you tell by the pictures of purple that they were developing streamers? I am new to the whole silkie games and it looked to me that she/he was starting to maybe develop some small streamers, but not really sure as they weren't too evident.

I completely understand. In my opinion they both look like hens, but silkies are very tricky to sex. It stinks because they are my favorite breed, but I can only have hens.

I am not very experienced with sexing and currently need help sexing my own silkies, but I have done tons of research on silkie sexing and I see no signs in either of your silkies that they are a rooster. I would says they are hens. How old are they?

Hi, I have (5) 3 week old Barred Rock chicks, and (6) 3 week old Americana(rooster) and the hen was either Buff Orpington or could be a number of others. We are located in Mooresville, NC. And will travel to drop off chickens (up to and hour).

I did, I peeled some more shell back and the whole membrane is dry. I am trying to hatch him

I took the top shell off and removed as much membrane as I could, he still cant get out, any advice?
