    Best time to butcher chicks?

    Unknown breed of chickens and were hatched on May 13th. Packing peanuts from Ideal and there is 10 of them. Do some people butcher a few birds every few months? I would like to do this if you guys thinks it's recomendable, so they are fresher. Thanks for the feedback!!

    19 baby chicks and ducklings dead

    All dead a couple skinned and a couple missing :(. I'm soo sad that was half of my flock and they were just wasted not even eaten. What predator does that? It had so be fairly big to lift a five-pound door. Any help would be much appriciated because I'm literally crying as I write this.

    Raising ducks and chicks together, good or bad idea? I've heard mixed ideas on this, someone said that the ducks are some how harmful to chicks (and mille fleur d'unncle bantams) but i've also heard that they are fine to raise together.Any feedback would be much appreciated.
