Any way we can get this simplified a little to just allowing all "small fowl". Nothing wrong with Royal Palm turkeys, they're like giant chickens!
And give pygmy goats full parity with pigs & dogs? (are residential dogs limited to only two?)
Current code: http://www.cityofnampa.us/DocumentCenter/View/188/Zoning-Ch-21-Animal-Regulationspdf?bidId=
Summarizing, still reflect the previous stated code:
10-21-2: AGRICULTURAL ANIMALS:
...Limited to one "large" animal per ten thousand (10,000) square feet or two (2) "medium sized" animals...
I hear there's a website coordinating people with lawn & tree services. Chipdrop.com If I wanted less composted chips I'd just circle the neighborhoods generally ask the first working crew's boss I find.
Of the top of my head, there's a couple problem, but how much varies widely. As BYC members, you of course know that chicken manure tends to be "hot.". Composting ages it to a suitable use... Level, though I don't personally know level of what. On the other hand I do know that feces is not...
I wouldn't even know where to get Pine shavings without buying those little compressed cubes from the store. Ironically cheaper is easier when you can get bulk mulch or just have a tree trimming company drop off their load in your yard.

I love me some Permaculture but I had to look "ramial" up. Unfortunately I find that like other vocations, some who absolutely love their work have overanalyzed farming and try to use "industry" jargon like polyphase farming, hugelkultur, and ramial wood with those outside that sphere...
In Tulsa, the "Green Waste" site takes free from everyone in the county, not exclusively urban roadside trimmings. Though commercial companies have to pay, residents drop off as much tree or brush as they want for free. You can pickup fresh ground chips or older composted mulch free too. More...
How about take free boards from long pallets, add free mulch from the city's "green waste", top with garden soil. Beds are @7'x12'; then hoop 3 hog panels for everything vining, tarp or other shade across the top if desired. Yes, they're tilted. Actually the ground is, it goes uphill to the...
Spring IS IN the air!!
We had a newer neighbor come over today to look at our coop. Her daughter was in the bathroom with our kids giving the hens a spa day (mites). Apparently she went to a class at Grogg's in Southish Tulsa about caring for chickens. Apparently an organic gardening center...
No problem with that here, buy I think we made our hole too big as the sparrows will take turns hanging onto the bolt and swinging monkey style to get extra pellets to fall out for themselves! It's better than a ground feeder by a long shot and won't be a problem when I get the run covered over.
Yes, $15 in state was quite good, or it sounds like a nice fieldtrip with the kids. Definitely more educational than anything the government schools have going on. It's about 1 1/2 hr drive. http://www.countryhatchery.net/chickens.html in case someone here doesn't know what we're talking...
A thorny issue to be sure but we haven't so far and had no problem when they were chicks. My only debate is introducing a couple layer replacement chicks when also getting a batch of broilers. Most of the locals with pretty layers don't have broilers in any quantity
I will point out for folks, if you don't think 6 is enough for you, according to TITLE 2 - ANIMALS [1]
CHAPTER 2. - AGRICULTURAL ANIMALS
Section 200. - Agricultural animal, ss EE.
Blah blah coop construction, distance from neighbors...
"shall not exceed SIX (6) ADULTS and FOURTEEN (14) CHICKS...
Our first we got from Craigslistings. I haven't been in Atwood's this week but Let's out EAST 11th had several tubs of different varieties. Great place!
As a Tulsa resident & new chicken owner, I looked at the code and do not see where roosters are excluded. 6 Adults; 14 chicks "under 8 weeks", juveniles =NA, total =NA; rooster are also not addressed.
All we could conclude was that if you get a neighbor's complaint someone might come to your...
