    Exposed brains on hatchling?!

Yeah, it's possible that the eggs were exposed to heat prior to me getting them. I bought a dozen and the seller gave me 17 eggs when I came to pick them up. She'd been collected them for me for about 11 days. We're in Florida, so the temps are quite aggressive outside, so at this point...

    Exposed brains on hatchling?!

This took me by surpise and I have little hope that it will make it through the night. I'd love some advice/feedback. But just to be clear, I'm giving it a chance and it's been left in the incubator. (Pics below) Some info on our eggs: Temperatures between 100-102 Humidity at 45 (72-75 during...

    Are these silkies crossed?

My iPod is being touchy and not posting everything I typed. Ugh. Well, it's kinda hard to see the color in the lighting, but it's not white coloring either. I have white, but compared to them, they're closer to buff, if not lighter... I'd have to snap a shot in the sun but my iPod is charging...

    Are these silkies crossed?

Well darn :( i hope most are pure bred... Are they still too young to sex? Here's a group of three I'm hesitant to call 'buff.' This includes chick 1 from the top post.

    Are these silkies crossed?

They came from a breeder and the parents all looked like silkies...but she had so many babies and I wasn't able to see the full flock.. Her property was literally under water from severe rain flooding when we got them.

    Are these silkies crossed?

I have a group of 15 babies, all sold to me as silkies but two of my babies make me wonder if they were crossed with a different breed. The crest on these two are not like everyone else... The top of the comb is ribbed unlike my other 13 babies. Opinions? Or is this normal for pure bred silkies...

    Age Progression of Silkie Chicks?

So, I've done some basic scratching around on the internet in search of a detailed chart of silkie chick growth from hatching day to six months of age. I could have missed something, but didn't find what I'm looking for, so I thought I would bring this up here and request a thread that might...

    Newie here.

We had 18+ ball pythons, all kinds of morphs, and couple of nelsons milksnakes. I miss them. We had some unfortunate events that forced us to sell everything at the beginning of the year, but it was for the best. Maybe we can get into them again one day. I have just started browsing around...

    Newie here.

We weren't exactly planning on venturing into the wonderful world of chickens for another year, but what can I say? When I find babies in need of rescuing, it's instinct to fly in and save them. I am now the mother hen of 15 silkie chicks. Oh dear Lord, what have I done....the cuteness overload...
