So we found this in the yard today not near any trees and right next to a pile of chicken poo- we think it's a first egg from one of our silkies! Unless it's a random egg that fell from the sky- a little nervous about eating it!

So this is one of my silkies. this is the one that in a previous thread i was told might be a rooster. Not really sure what is going on- is this just feathers coming in or is she/he sick? The other two don't seem to have this going on. They hatched in mid april so are about 19-20 weeks old.

The boxes have the same amount of beddign as the rest of the coop but less poop haha. I've just finished cleaning it out and am adding a "hen herb laying mix" I bought at blue seal along with the new food. Glad to hear the paper thin first egg is normal! PHEW!

Ahh. The people at Blue Seal told me not to switch them until they were laying.

Yes, they have medicated feed as i indicated above. They also were vaccinated against coccicidosis. No blood in the diarehea- do you think that is what it is though?
